Lucca by bike or foot

Lucca, a small city in the Tuscan countryside, is unknown to the average tourist. Its splendid medieval historic centre is enclosed within old walls, which one can still today walk or bike along. Cars are not permitted here and the only way of getting around, used by all residents, is by bicycle. A bike ride on the walls is not to be missed; up high, you can see the whole city with a single glance and between the roofs of houses emerge dozens of bell towers, palazzos and churches.
